Instructions for abstract submission

Submission of abstracts is supported by professional conference management software ( All abstracts must be submitted electronically through this system. Below are several details that will help you prepare your abstracts and use the system with ease.

Abstract preparation

  • All abstracts must be original and unpublished work.
  • You need to provide the following in plain text:

Abstract body

5 key words that best describe the content of your paper (Please place on a separate line below abstract body.)

  • Example Template.
  • Abstracts should be submitted in English. Please make your best efforts to write a concise abstract and ensure that you convey sufficient details for an adequate review.  
  • The maximum number of words is 300 (excluding the abstract title and authors).  No figures or tables are allowed at the time of abstract submission. 
  • Please list all Authors.  (You will need to include email address, author’s names, title, affiliation, and country.)  Each author listed will receive an automated email regarding the abstract submission.
  • Only the corresponding author can make modifications to abstract after it has been submitted.

Abstract submission

  • Before you can submit the abstract, the system will require that you create an account. (Please note that accessing the Exordo system after creating the account can be only made using the Original email and password. Please do not use alternative emails when accessing the system.) The author doing the submittal will also sign a “Term of Service” document on the behalf of the paper submission team. Following the creation of the account you can log into the system to change your original abstract until the closing period of abstract submission.

  • Your abstract should be entered in the online system by finding the “My Submissions” tab on your dashboard.  Select “New Submission” for each abstract you would like to submit. The site will then walk you through the process step by step. 
  • During the abstract submission, you will be asked to indicate the conference session for your contribution(s). You may review the Session Selections here: (
  • Submitters that intend to participate in the “Erich Plate Best Young Scientist Poster” award should indicate this option at the time of registering the contribution as a poster. (Please note: Young scientists are applicants under 35-years old.)


Abstract review

  • The submitted abstracts will go through review by a (conference-dedicated) team comprised of experienced professionals in multiple areas of flood management.
  • A final paper may only be submitted only after the abstract is accepted.  At that time, you will receive guidelines for the format of full papers.  (This format will be the same for oral and poster submissions.)
  • Please note that abstract acceptance does not guarantee acceptance of a final paper. 
  • The final contribution for the conference proceedings:  Along with abstracts, authors have the capability of submitting a final conference paper.  The acceptance of the abstract only is a prerequisite to present at the conference.
