The NSF award will allow up to 50 young professionals to engage in the conference.

The application package for the NSF-ICFM8 fellowships requires:

1. A brief 2-page Curriculum Vitae

2. A short (up to 3 pages) essay where candidates need to showcase​​​

a. Abstract for the planned submission (i.e., poster or full paper) - up to 300 words - Example template

b. Why and how participation at the conference will help their future goals

c. What follow-up activities can be expected from participation at ICFM8

d. Justification for the financial support request

 3. Letter of Support for Graduate Students and a Letter of Recommendation for the Post-Doctoral Scholars.

The above-mentioned items should be submitted via email to: by August 25, 2020. The final decisions on which prospective participants would receive support from the NSF funds will be made by an evaluation team composed of: G. Villarini (IIHR Director), W. Krajewski (IFC Director), L. Weber (IFC co-founder), and M. Muste (The PI of the NSF award and ICFM8 conference chair. The results of the evaluation will be communicated by September 15, 2020.

The selected candidates for the NSF award will then submit an abstract of their contribution through the conference submission system by the general conference deadline communicated on the conference website:
